Works In Progress: Completing Your Book for Publication
Hal Zina Bennett, bestselling writer and writing coach

Friday, May 16 - Sunday May 18
Starwae in Sonoma, CA

This is an opportunity to learn from a publishing veteran what you need to do to take your manuscript to finished form for publication. Hal teaches this seminar only twice a year and limits enrollment to 10 writers who have book projects or concepts for books underway. You’ll get a comprehensive written evaluation describing what you'll need to take it the final steps to successful publication. (Usual price for the evaluation alone is $650.)
Hal's writings, workshops and lectures have reached millions of readers and writers the world over. With more than 30 successful books of his own, he also coaches upcoming writers, and has helped over 200 authors develop successful books.
Hal's gifts as a teacher, writing coach, and developmental editor have proven invaluable for thousands of writers. Several of his author-clients have become national best-sellers and Oprah guests. His client list has included: Phil McGraw ("Dr. Phil"), Judith Orloff, Shakti Gawain, Jerry G. Jampolksy, Dharma Singh Khalsa, Stanislaf Grof, Michael Samuels, Sandra Ray, Dave Smith, Janice Crow, and many others.
Hal's own list of published works includes novels, poetry, magazine articles and non-fiction-writings that open hearts and minds to the expanding range of the human experience. You have a great treat in store, whether reading one of Hal's books or taking one of his workshops. His own books include: Write From the Heart (New World Library),  Writing Spiritual Books (New World Library), Follow Your Bliss (Avon/Wm. Morrow), The Lens of Perception (Celestial Arts), Zuni Fetishes (HarperCollins),and  Spirit Circle, a novel (Tenacity Press.)
This seminar is tailored to the needs of individual writers attending. You'll come away with clarity about what you need to do next to move your book toward publication--and the skills for doing just that. Includes tips on getting a literary agent, writing query letters and proposals, what to expect from a publisher, the pros and cons of self-publishing, self-promotion, and much more. Includes valuable handouts and a free copy of one of Hal's books, either Write From the Heart or Writing Spiritual Books.
Submit projects at least 3 weeks in advance. Rough form is fine. Maximum 120 pages of a manuscript, or an outline of your proposed project. Send directly to Hal Zina Bennett, 9827 Irvine Ave. Upper Lake, CA 95485 by Priority Mail or FEDEX. Do not send registered or certified mail since Hal lives 14 miles from the post office and would have go in and sign for it.

SARK invites you to
Juicy Pens, Thirsty Paper
Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15
10 AM to 5PM

Gift the world with your words and stories, and learn how to create the time and energy to delight yourself with your writing. Explore what keeps you from writing, using all the tools, games, and exercises that helped SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy) write 14 best-selling books.
Find out how to let your stories and words tumble happily out of your head and onto the page as you discover the value of sharing your stories within a creative community. Author of A Creative Companion, SARK designed this workshop especially for creative writers, journal-keepers, and anyone with stories to share.
When she was 10 years old, SARK announced to her mother, "I’m supposed to be a beacon of hope to the world and write books." Her mother told her to eat her peanut butter sandwich. Although SARK wrote her first book that same year, she didn’t become a published author until age 34 because of fear, procrastination, and perfectionism. In this workshop we will learn all the ways she uses to deal with these blocks to our full creative expression.
Limited to only 25 participants

Cost $395. Delicious lunches included.

Lodging not included.

Her workshops fill quickly, so it's best to reserve early.
A $150 deposit (non-refundable) will reserve your space.
